PRESTON, MD – February 21, 2019 – Talbot Special Riders is excited to welcome cycling enthusiasts from around the county to its seventh annual Spring Classic Bike Tour on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Approximately 400 cyclists are expected to converge on the town of Easton, MD to participate in a 25, 50 or 62-mile ride along some of the most scenic routes in Talbot County. The Spring Classic starts and ends at Easton Middle School, 201 Peach Blossom Road. Packet pickup is at 8 a.m. There are three fully supported rest stops and a light lunch at the end of the ride. The event will take place rain or shine. According to one cyclist last year, “Three generations of our family came from New Jersey and New York to enjoy this ride. It was absolutely a perfect day. Great weather, routes were well marked, volunteers were over the top and food was delish.”
“This event raises much-needed funds to support our year-round therapeutic horseback riding and equine-assisted programs,” said Kim Hopkins, executive director of Talbot Special Riders. “Our Spring Classic bike tour is known for its friendly volunteers, its renowned homemade cookies and the cream of crab soup served at lunch.” A massage therapist will be on site offering massages to weary riders as they cross the finish line. Locker rooms and showers will be available at the YMCA across the street.
